Who am I?
I am an old- fashioned American. I believe it became great because of its faith in God, its hope for independence, and its love of freedom.
I am greatful for America's glorious past; I have been awed by its present, but have concerns about its future; I am in hopes it will have a limitless future, however, certain trends worry me about where we are headed.
I believe there are millions of Americans like myself who want free choice, not a handout to millions of illegals who came here and are recipients of what should be going to Americans who have struggled to build this great nation. There is more money going to help illegals on welfare in the U.S. than is going to our military who is out there defending our freedom.
I am not one to demonstrate in the streets but prefer to use my abilities to care for those I am responsibile for. I will always be determined to do my part to make democracy work even though there are those here that are not in favor of democracy but seek to destroy it.
Arthur B. Motley, publisher, once said, "All the freedom man has achieved to date has been achieved only because individuals accepted responsibility, assumed obligations, performed on promises, and delivered to the rest of mankind whatever gifts and talent with which they were endowed.
"For those in future generations who chose to be free and help others enjoy freedom, there is no other course except to live our daily lives as individuals responsible for our own morals, our own character, our own family, our own industry, our own jobs."
Wake up, America, there are those among us who desire to destroy that freedom. Motley's quote tells me that our concerns have to centered on those ideals that set us apart from those here for the free handouts.
