Today, i saw on TV one of the most disgraceful events that just makes me sick. The event at Boston College that happened to Condoleesa Rice should not have happened to a dog. This group who demonstrated against her actually shows the low life they actually are. She is one of the most respected person by millions of Americans. I can hardly consider this gang at BC,
Americans.

Thank God i am a conservative. These following comments are taken from an article in the Dem/Gaz. newspaper in Little Rock. Written By Paul Greenberg.
Who with any political sense in the 1950's would have predicted that by the end of the century, conservatism would come to dominate American political thought.
How did it happen? It came to pass because American conservatism was able to articulate the country's values in a way that made sense to a new generation of Americans.
And what are those values? A faith in freedom- in the right to life, liberty and our own property. In foreign affairs, conserservatives would display a constancy of purpose that would prevail despite unsteady allies abroad and the old lure of isolationism at home. Who, besides Ronald Reagan would have thought that the end of the Soviet Union would not come with a bang but a whimper? And with it, the end of the Cold War and the nuclear arms race between the world's two great superpowers. Talk about seizing the moral imagination.
The great political achievement of Ronald Reagan was to transform a cozy club into a populist movement, and his example remains instructive. Like Lincoln before him, the great communicator was willing to accept the know nothings, but he drew the line at substituting their prejudices for his principles In Mr Lincoln's day, the know-nothings actually had a party, and its bogeyman was the Roman Catholic Church. Today's demogogues use the latest wave of immigrants to much the same effect. The Party of Arkansas's Blanche Lincoln is being told it should demand that all illegal immigrants should be deported, even if it means breaking up families, disrupting the economy and denying medical care and their children a right to education.
Beyond specific policies and programs, there is something vital in the conservative cause that proves irresistable to Americans. It is a recognition of the central, animating spirit behind values like family, community, country and Constitution. Call it the spirit of liberty. Its fruits is generosity and fellowship, not fear and suspicion. It unites, not divides. The spirit of liberty cherishes the liberty of others as well as our own. It respects- no reverences- the inate dignity of each human being. It is the spirit Of Abraham Lincoln, and it waits to be revived again.
Our faith in liberty may sometimes be obscured, but it is always there. All we have to do is articulate it, act on it and it will shine again.
Paul Greenberg, editorial editor, Ar. Dem. Gaz.

Scott, it doesn't say liberty will fail you, the thought is it unites you, not divide.

George, I don't disagree with persons having the right to protest. What galls me is the fact they invited her to speak at their commencment and half of the graduates turned their back when she spoke along with a large group of so called professors. If they did not want her there, why was she invited. Disrespect for people in authority is wrong. What BC needs to do is protest these priest who are molesting young boys and clean their own house before they do something like this. Of course this is typical in that area, this is kerry and Kennedy territory.
